All you need to know about the Deraya For Entrepreneurship Initiative

  • Who can participate in the different events?

    The hackathons, the startup weekends and the webinars are intended for all the Libyan entrepreneurs and/or future entrepreneurs who want to develop their ideas into projects with the aim to upskill themselves personally and professionally.

  • Do I have to be a native citizen to participate in this program?

    No, this program is inclusive and targets all the youth in Libya.

  • Is the participation in these events free of charge?

    Yes, all the events (hackathons, startup weekends and webinars) organized by Deraya are free.

  • Is this an online program?

    Some activities are online like the Webinars and Hackathons. On the other hand, the Startup Weekends will be organized in different regions of Libya (Tripoli, Benghazi, Sabha, Derna).

  • What will I gain from participating in this program?

    With this program, you’ll learn how to transform your innovative idea into a business. You’ll know more about the entrepreneurial ecosystem and you’ll be connected with other entrepreneurs, experts and speakers from the MENA region which will help you develop your technical and soft skills.

  • How does the selection process work?

    To participate to one of our events, you need to apply through the website form of each event individually, the selection for each event is as follows:
    Webinars: No selection process, everyone who apply can attend the webinar
    Hackathons: A selection committee will choose the participants through the predefined criteria
    Startup Weekends: A selection committee will choose the participants through the predefined criteria

  • Can I apply for more than one program?

    For the Hackathons and the Startup Weekends, you can only apply to the one which will take place in your region. And you need to register to attend the different webinars as we will be discussing different topics related to entrepreneurship.

  • When should I expect an answer after I fill in the form?

    You will receive an email within a week or two. If it’s a confirmation, you’ll also receive all the details needed.
